What is the NICEIC?
The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting is a non-profit making organisation set up to protect electricity users against unsafe and unsound electrical installations. The NICEIC is supported by all sectors of the electrical industry, consumer bodies and local and central Government.
The NICEIC operates as the industry's independent voluntary regulatory body on electrical safety matters and each year publishes a Roll of over 25,000 contractors that it has approved.
All NICEIC Approved Contractors:
Carry out electrical installation work to the recognised industry standards
Employ competent electricians who are properly supervised
Use materials of good quality that conform to the relevant British Standards
Undergo regular inspection by NICEIC inspecting engineers
Are bound by the NICEIC Complaints Procedure and Guarantee of Standards Scheme.
